SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE ANNOUNCEMENT

26 April 2012 (12:00pm) THROUGH 27 April 2012 (11:59am)

Description

The Grid Team will be performing semester maintenance to the Wharton grid -- applying the latest round of OS, Sun Grid Engine, and software patches and performing a set of other underlying hardware maintenance tasks. Check back here (http://unix.wharton.upenn.edu/) for details on the status of the maintenance.

ALL systems will be DOWN during this time, and all jobs will be cancelled.

Downtime should be shorter than the 24 hours reserved, but we reserve the entire time in case of unforeseen issues.

What you should do

Please save your work and log off of the system prior to 12:00pm on Thursday April 26, 2012.

Overview

The Wharton School Grid is a 20-node, 80-cpu Linux grid & cluster environment dedicated to supporting faculty academic research. It is managed through Wharton Computing's Core Systems group.

The Grid website is maintained by Core Systems administrators. Please let us know if there is any way that we can enhance the website for a better user experience.
